Produced in the French region of Cognac, G’Vine is a hint as to what this unique gin contains. It’s actually infused with Ugni Blanc grape, as well as some more standard botanicals including ginger root, liquorice, cardamom, cassia bark, coriander, cubeb berries, nutmeg, lime and even a bit of juniper.
- Aroma: Floral, sweet, and crisp with notes of citrus, especially lime.
- Palate: Smooth and well-balanced with floral and fruity flavors from the grape base, citrus, and soft spices.
- Finish: A clean, fruity, and slightly spicy finish that can include ginger and licorice notes.
- Juniper: Juniper is present but subdued, with the grape spirit softening the traditional taste.
- G&T: A gin and tonic is a popular choice, as the gin’s floral notes pair well with the bitterness of tonic water.
- Garnishes: Consider serving with warmer, fruity garnishes like cinnamon, ginger, or grapes instead of citrus, especially in cooler months.
- Sipping: It can be enjoyed neat over ice, as its smoothness makes it suitable for sipping.
- Cocktails: It is versatile in cocktails, but avoid using a strong, citrus-heavy tonic or in very dry martinis, as its delicate flavors can be easily overpowered.
- Grape-based: Unlike most gins made from grain, G’Vine is distilled from grapes, which contributes to its unique, fruity, and smooth character.
- Botanicals: Features a complex blend of botanicals, with subtle hints of spice like cardamom and ginger complementing the grape and floral notes.
- Alcohol Content: Typically around 40% ABV (80 proof).
