Inspired by the plight of bees across the world, Tom and Tina, owners of Warner Edwards, have used their passion for quality, flavour and authenticity to create this award-winning Honeybee Gin.
In order to craft this magical gin, they have not only set up their own hives but have used the natural spring water, grain spirit and home-grown ingredients from their 200 year old barn on Falls Farm in picturesque Northamptonshire.
Every glorious golden bottle is etched with the botanicals and story, hand-dipped in wax and sealed with the symbol of a honeybee. You’ll also find a packet of wildflower seeds at the top of each bottle so that you can create a bee sanctuary of your own at home.
This handmade artisan gin is ready for sipping. Enjoy its soft vanilla sweetness and slight creaminess from the pure honey with further herbal notes of rosemary and sage all year round.
- Nose: A complex floral bouquet with sweet honey notes and hints of spice.
- Palate: Soft and creamy with flavors of lavender, rose, and a touch of grapefruit zest. The juniper and elderflower are present but balanced by the sweetness and other botanicals.
- Finish: Smooth and enduring, with a dry-sweet spice of juniper and elderflower that gives way to a lingering honey taste.
- Positive: Many users find it delicious, refreshing, and not overly sweet, with a lovely, balanced flavor. They enjoy the subtle flavor and its versatility.
- Mixed: Some customers are disappointed, noting they don’t get a strong honey flavor and find it tastes more floral or herby. One user described it as tasting “awful” and bitter.
- Overall: The general consensus is that it’s a well-made and enjoyable gin, especially for those who prefer subtle, floral, and zesty flavors over a strong, sweet honey profile.
- Classic: A Gin and Tonic, ideally with a Mediterranean Tonic water, garnished with a slice of lemon and sage leaves.
- Simple mix: A Gin and Soda or Gin and Lemonade.
- Cocktails: The “Bumble Tea” (with ice tea and chamomile) or “Buzzecco” (with Prosecco) are also noted as delicious options.
