A white rum which needs very little introduction, Bacardi’s Carta Blanca is incredible popular indeed, seen on backbars around the world. The Bacardi brand originated in Cuba, and the first distillery had a colony of fruit bats nesting in the rafters, hence the bat on Bacardi labels. Suitable for countless cocktails and mixed drinks.
- Nose: Displays delicate, light aromas of orchard fruits, gentle citrus, and a mild hint of vanilla.
- Palate: Very mild and slightly sweet with notes of almond and vanilla. Because it is a light white rum, there is very little complexity.
- The Finish: Clean, dry, and crisp with a light alcoholic bite, making it highly complimentary to other ingredients.
- Aging: Aged in un-charred and American white oak barrels for 1 to 2 years to ensure a smooth, rounded taste.
- Filtration: It is shaped and refined through a secret blend of charcoal filtration to strip away the color while preserving its distinct smoothness and clarity.
- Sipping (Not Recommended): The vast majority of reviewers agree that this rum should not be consumed neat. On its own, it can taste harsh or overwhelmingly alcoholic.
- Mixing (Highly Recommended): It sets the benchmark for a classic mixer. Its mild flavor profile prevents it from dominating other ingredients, making it the ideal canvas for rum cocktails like the Mojito, Daiquiri, and Cuba Libre
