From the clever minds and talented hands that brought us Dictador Rum comes an aged Colombian gin. Using a botanical selection based on the limon mandarino, a hybrid between a mandarin orange and a lemon, they have created a wonderful, citrus-forward gin and given it the rather regal name, Treasure. After distillation, it is aged in rum barrels for 35 weeks to enhance and round out the flavours.
- Nose:Â Tangerine, grapefruit, and lemon, with hints of mint, spearmint, and pepper.
- Palate:Â A smooth, buttery, and slightly sweet texture with continued citrus notes, balanced by traditional gin botanicals and spices like pepper.
- Finish:Â Warm, savory, and lingering with hints of spice and citrus.Â
- Aging:Â Aged in oak barrels that previously held rum, which gives it a soft, rich character and a light amber color.
- Botanicals:Â A unique blend, including the local mandarin lemon, and traditional botanicals like juniper, angelica, mint, and pepper.Â
- Neat or on the rocks:Â Many reviewers suggest this is an excellent way to appreciate its complex and smooth flavor.
