Our distillery operates since 1658, and we are the oldest independent distillery in the Netherlands, located in Schiedam. Franciscus de Le Boë Sylvius wasn’t the first person to distill juniper berries, however; he was the first one to register this distillate and coin it “Genevre”. This happened in 1650. A mere 8 years later we started our company in the same town; Leiden. And that’s where the Docter and our distillery meet….
- Nose: Caraway, cinnamon, citrus, anise, juniper, and floral notes like lavender.
- Palate: Sharp caraway initially, followed by deeper floral, juniper, star anise, and cinnamon notes. A malty and nutty character from angelica is also present.
- Finish: Long, spicy, and lingering with caraway, licorice, and fennel notes.
- Style: A modern London Dry gin, produced in the Netherlands, with a clear Dutch signature.
- Distillery: Made at the Onder de Boompjes Distillery in Schiedam, which has been family-owned since 1658.
- Ingredients: A blend of 10 botanicals, including juniper berries, caraway, cinnamon, citrus peel, lavender, angelica, coriander, and star anise.
