The unique young flavour of this jenever is due to the fact that the basic ingredient of malt wine is not aged in barrels. Its specific character moreover is the result of adding a fine distillate of juniper berries and other herbs.
- Nose: Fresh juniper, coriander, and orange peel, similar to a classic dry gin.
- Palate: More sweet grain influence, with juniper, lemon, and a hint of cinnamon. It has a nice viscosity.
- Finish: Lingering, slightly dry, and bitter juniper.
- Cocktail Use: Excellent for classic cocktails that call for gin or in a Genever & Tonic.
- 8 Years Old:
- Nose: Soft grains, orange, vanilla, oak, and baking spices.
- Palate: Creamy texture with notes of banana, fudge, bitter oak, and nutmeg.
- Finish: Lingering nutmeg and cloves with a hint of sweetness.
- 21 Years Old:
- Nose: Chocolate, burnt peanut skins, candied raspberry, orange, vanilla, and burnt ginger.
- Palate: Warming spices like cinnamon and cardamom, along with juniper, cigar tobacco, and caramel sweetness.
- Finish: Lingering sweetness and a touch of menthol.
- Recognition: Won gold, Country Winner, and “best in the world” at the World Gin Awards 2024.
- Nose: Strong citrus and coriander supported by a backbone of juniper. Some sweetness from cardamom is also present.
- Palate: Bright citrus and juniper notes, with a slightly sweeter edge to the juniper.
- Finish: Dry finish.
- Profile: A relatively classic, understated, and well-rounded gin.
