Bivrost Arctic Gin is crafted at the foot of the Lyngen Alps in Arctic Norway, a spot where the Northern Lights have been known to visit once or twice! Locally harvested botanicals including arctic berries, juniper, roots and spices are distilled, and melted glacier water is blended with the spirit to bring it down to a bottling strength of 44% ABV. If there was ever a gin to simply drink over ice, this’ll be it!
- Aroma: Piney juniper with hints of overripe banana, spice, and citrus.
- Taste: Soft juniper, mild peppery spice, and lemon citrus, with an underlying sweet berry flavor.
- Finish: Citrus notes are more pronounced in a clean, slightly peppery spiced finish.
- Origin: Norway, made by the Aurora Spirit Distillery in the Lyngen Alps.
- Botanicals: Includes juniper, arctic berries, roots, and spices like cardamom, angelica, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Mouthfeel: Soft and clean.
- Best served: Works well with lighter, fresh tonics, but also pairs well with spicier or herby tonics.
- The name “Bivrost” comes from Nordic mythology, referring to the “bridge between the Earth and Asgard”.
- The gin is made using a base of vodka distilled from 15 potatoes and diluted with water from melted glaciers.
- A cask-aged version is available, which has been stored in a re-toasted ex-red wine barrel and has notes of red fruit and wood.
